Amanita 101

Amanita thrives in forests all over the world
Amanita, also known as Amanita muscaria or Fly Agaric, is the most widely recognized mushroom in the world. It grows in temperate forests on every continent of the world (except Antarctica).
Amanita muscaria is unique because it is a mycorrhizal mushroom meaning it must form a symbiotic relationship with a host tree in order to fruit. It especially likes pine, birch, spruce and fir trees, but will work with almost any tree species. Because of this relationship, it must be foraged from nature and cannot be farmed.

Amanita is an ancient mushroom with a long history of use
Amanita muscaria has been used by humans for tens of thousands of years. Its longest history of use was in Siberia where it was consumed by shamans to help bring them clarity of the coming year. Later it was adopted by the peoples of Northern Europe who would take Amanita in the winter to reduce seasonal depression and increase motivation.
Due to its metaphysical & spiritual benefits (and overall misunderstandings), Amanita was vilified as a toxic toadstool. However, we still have remnants of its hidden magic in cultural works such as
- Alice in Wonderland
- Mario
- Christmas

Why Microdose Amanita?
Amanita is known to create relationships and harmony within the forest by connecting the roots of trees together into a web. This web helps the trees communicate and share nutrients so they can grow strong. In return, Amanita gets their excess sugars so it too can flourish - even when nutrients are scarce.
By consuming microdosed amounts of the mushroom, we can gain the support to live more like them:
- to socialize easily with others
- to feel balanced and strong
- to flourish even when things get tough
